Hey Everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful last Friday in August! As this is my last post before I head for my semester abroad in Morocco, I wanted to make this a good one! Today’s song is called “Don’t Shoot” by the Game. This hard-hitting track tackles the ever-present and lingering issues that are still existing in Ferguson, Missouri. The Game gives us a track that speaks for itself and the solidarity of the diverse group of rappers shows that regardless of fame, popularity or fan base, their voices MATTER! Rappers and other artists are slowly coming to realize that wanted or unwanted, they hold a social responsibility to their audiences to speak for those who can’t.
