BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA – Join Raphael Saye, co-founder of Royal Dynamite and Issa Rae, creator and star of "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl" for an education session you don’t want to miss. Taking place October 9, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m., the session will cover compelling careers in marketing and a lesson in Africana Studies.
This seminar meets the OFYE 5 x 10 professional development requirement, and takes place at the Office of Interdisciplinary Programs, Maginnes Hall, Room 490 at Lehigh University.
The event will discuss ways multiculturalism shapes and informs a wide range of careers including: media, entertainment, marketing and advertising. It will feature keynote speeches from both Saye and Raye on their journey to entpreneurship in the digital marketing space.
This event is the first stop of many in the RD Duffle Bag Tour. The community-based and socially responsible t-shirt brand Royal Dynamite will soon be traveling the nation to discuss it's experience as a startup, how corporate social responsibility can be a game changer and how to create loyal brand ambassadors. The partnership with Rae came as a result of the common desire to lend a voice to a demographic that largely goes unheard.
